SVT’S “HOW SWEDEN WAS BUILT” SPOTLIGHTS THE FUTURE OF SKYSCRAPERS
The second episode of How Sweden Was Built, a docuseries produced by Sweden’s national public broadcaster SVT, features an interview with BIG’s Founder and Creative Director Bjarke Ingels, in which Bjarke discusses the evolution of skyscrapers and explores the city of the future with host Mark Isitt. The conversation continues with a look at BIG’s impact on the Manhattan skyline, including projects such as The Spiral, a 66-story tower wrapped in a continuous ribbon of greenery, and VIA 57 West, the “courtscraper” that merges Manhattan’s skyscraper density with the openness of a European courtyard.
