In honor of the Artemis II space launch, PBS released Artemis II: Return to the Moon – a film that documents the NASA Artemis program’s mission to return humanity to the Moon for the first time since Apollo and establish a lunar space station for scientific and commercial exploration. The documentary follows the Artemis II crew as they embark on a 10-day journey to orbit the Moon. Among the concepts explored in the film is Project Olympus, a lunar habitat designed by BIG, ICON, SEArch+, and NASA that represents humanity’s first foray into extraterrestrial construction. Using ICON’s 3D printing technology and lunar regolith as the building material, the torus-shaped habitat is designed to accommodate four astronauts for up to a month at a time.
