Italian lighting brand Artemide has launched Iperbole, a suspension lamp designed around a geometric principle in collaboration with BIG’s team of product designers. Named after the hyperbola – a curve created when a cone is cut at an angle – the design uses simple geometric modules that can function as individual elements or be combined to create larger compositions of light arranged in straight lines, curved forms or closed loops. Made from thin, turned aluminum, the lamp is lightweight and features an aspheric lens at its centre, which distributes light evenly and comfortably while helping to reduce glare.
