GALERIES LAFAYETTE TAKES CENTER STAGE IN OSCAR-WINNING FILM “TWO PEOPLE EXCHANGING SALIVA”

Galeries Lafayette Champs Elysees, the Paris concept store designed by BIG, serves as the backdrop for Two People Exchanging Saliva, the dystopian short film by Natalie Musteata and Alexandre Singh that won an Oscar at the 2026 Academy Awards. The 6,800-m2 store is housed in a former Art Deco bank building from 1932, which was carefully uncovered and restored by BIG. Standing as the largest store on the famed Parisian boulevard, the four-story department store’s design pays tribute to the tactility and texture of the historic building, with new gallery-like spaces washed in an abundance of daylight.
