Irmahus welcomed 100+ neighbors and collaborators to celebrate the official topping out of the new 19-story hotel- and office building in Aarhus, Denmark. The hotel will be the final addition to the Aarhus Harbor Masterplan, designed in collaboration with SLET and Gehl, and is expected to welcome its first guests in February 2027. “It is a distinctive building where, by stepping the height down toward Basin 7, they have created a development that fits very well together with the surrounding blocks next to it. A completely special brick was required for Irmahus, Aarhus’ upcoming hotel and commercial building by Basin 7. This helps create a human scale that strengthens the urban life already present and creates a pleasant urban space to be in.” says Anne Mette Boye, City Architect of Aarhus.
