NEW YORK MAGAZINE HIGHLIGHTS VIA 57 WEST IN STORY ON NEW YORK CITY’S BEST ARCHITECTURE OF THE PAST DECADE

New York Magazine’s Architecture Critic Justin Davidson names VIA 57 West in his article on the best New York architecture of the past 10 years. The “radical but recognizable” VIA 57 West combines the density of the Manhattan skyscraper with the communal space of the European courtyard, with a lush 22,000-sq-ft garden at the heart of the building. Upon opening in 2016, VIA introduced a completely new building form to the city while evoking historic courtyard apartment buildings such as the Belnord or the Apthorp.
