On the heels of her official World Cup song and performances, Shakira’s Madrid residency at the BIG-designed Shakira Stadium at Macondo Park continues to expand. Located within the Iberdola Music venue in the city’s Villaverde district, the venue features 12 pavilions that each represent a different pillar of the residency experience: music, fashion, gastronomy, literature, art and cinema, family, and the artistic universe of Shakira and Macondo – a town inspired by the magical realism of Colombia writer Gabriel García Márquez. Curated around the theme of “Es Latina,” Shakira Stadium is a celebration of Latino culture, staying active before, during, and after each show. Holding over 50,000 people, the venue is filled with vegetation native to the Mediterranean region as well as fan zones and color-coded paths leading guests to each pavilion. The residency will run from September 18 to October 11.
