TATLER ASIA FEATURES SUZHOU MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART AMONG THE MOST MONUMENTAL MUSEUMS OF 2025 & 2026

14.04.2026

The Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art has been featured in Tatler Asia among the most significant new museums of 2025 and 2026. Spanning seven cities, the list showcases monumental museums that redefine and signal a new era in cultural architecture. Located on Jinji Lake and covering 60,000 m², the museum  is conceived as a reimagination of the traditional garden ‘lang’ 廊 – a long, covered corridor that traces a path. 12 interconnected pavilions are unified beneath a continuous, ribbon-like roof whose gentle undulations recall the silhouette of tiled eaves.  Clad in rippled and curved glass and warm-toned stainless steel, the façades reflect the surrounding sky, water, and gardens – blurring the boundaries between architecture and the natural environment.  Suzhou MoCA completed a soft opening in late 2025, with a grand inauguration scheduled for summer 2026.
