THE AURELIA PRIZE IN DESIGN FOR SPACE URBANISM LAUNCHES
Aurelia Institute’s new Prize in Design for Space Urbanism has launched, inviting submissions for a design concept of a near-future station, habitat, or industrial facility in space. The competition jury includes Bjarke Ingels, Founder and Creative Director of BIG; Victor Glover, NASA’s next lunar astronaut; photographer Andrew Zuckerman; and Paola Antonelli, curator at MoMA, among others. The winner will be announced in April 2026 and awarded up to $20,000 and an invitation to present their design at the Aurelia Institute’s Beyond the Cradle conference at MIT. Aurelia Institute is a nonprofit space architecture R&D lab, education and outreach center, and policy hub dedicated to building humanity’s future in space for the benefit of Earth. The submission deadline for the Prize in Design for Space Urbanism is January 30.
