Major Australian publication The Australian highlights Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet and the neighbouring Hôtel des Horlogers in a feature story on the museum and hotel in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. Located among the historical complex of workshops and factories in the village of Le Brassus, the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet is a spiral-shaped pavilion that opened in 2020, reminiscent of the spring in a timepiece movement, entirely supported by curved glass walls. The addition of the zig-zagging Hôtel des Horlogers came to fruition just one year later, opening its doors in April of 2021. For Sébastian Vivas, heritage and museum director at Audemars Piguet, the design fits with how he sees the museum and hotel – as a “living” experience: “Watchmaking is a living industry, connecting the past with the future. For our watchmakers, it is extremely inspiring to work in workshops surrounded by the masterpieces of their predecessors. For our visitors, it is key to be in contact with the artisans because our crafts are based on the transmission of know-how, passion, the [sharing] of ideas.”
